Housing associations and property managers

We clear asbestos from roofs, basement pipes and bathrooms in many flats at once. The work is planned in stages so residents can stay, we write the resident information together with you, and you get one case file per property for the maintenance plan.

Contractors and demolition

We remove asbestos that turns up in the middle of a conversion, and clear hazardous materials before demolition begins. As a subcontractor we follow your QA procedures, attend site meetings, seal our own zone and document our own work. We coordinate with the trades that come in before and after us.

Municipalities and public clients

We work in schools, institutions and offices that have to stay in use while the work goes on, and document to the requirements in the tender.

Businesses

We work in production areas, warehouses and offices while operations carry on, and agree with you when heating, water and ventilation are off.

Environmental screening before you demolish or convert

Before demolition, renovation or larger maintenance that affects more than 10 m² or produces more than 1 tonne of waste, you as the building owner must screen the building for problematic substances and notify the waste to your municipality. Asbestos is one; lead, PCB, chlorinated paraffins and heavy metals are the others. The notification is in your name, and we help with the figures.

We can take care of the asbestos part: we arrange samples of the materials the project affects and a laboratory analysis, and you get a survey with sample locations, results and extent that a tender or a quote can be built on. Read more about the asbestos survey.

Asbestos removal while the building stays in use

We work zone by zone. Each area is sealed with an airlock and negative pressure, cleared, cleaned, measured by agreement and released before the next one is closed. Work in common areas, plant rooms and basements is scheduled outside opening hours where needed, and residents and users are told when which areas are closed and when heating and water are off.

Documentation you can build on

After the removal you get one complete case file per property or stage with:

• A copy of the notification to the Working Environment Authority.
• Laboratory results for the materials that were tested.
• The sealing and work plan with the zones and materials the work covered.
• The receipt from the approved waste site for the asbestos waste delivered.
• The check before release: a description of the cleaning and inspection, and the clearance measurement result where one was agreed.

Encapsulated material that stays in place is labelled and recorded in the file, so the next tradesperson knows what is behind it.
