Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Verdan (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit this website or contact us through it. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy, except where this policy notes that a provider acts as a controller in its own right. You can reach us at kontakt@verdan.dk or by post at Adelgade 20, 9000 Aalborg.
Information we collect
We process contact form submissions, technical data and, with your consent, advertising measurement data:
- Contact form. When you write to us or request a quote, we collect your name, your email address, and the contents of your message. We also collect whatever else you fill in: the type of job, whether you are contacting us as a private or business customer, postcode and town, the extent of the job, whether an asbestos sample has been taken, phone number, company name, and any indicative price from the asbestos roof calculator.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, automatically processes basic technical information, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, in server logs as part of delivering and securing the website. The contact form also runs a bot-detection check (Cloudflare Turnstile) described under “Who we share it with” below.
Advertising measurement. If you accept marketing cookies, we use Meta Pixel and Conversions API. Page visits and views of service and pricing pages are reported from both your browser and our server. After your enquiry is sent, our server also reports the event to Meta with a shared identifier to prevent double-counting. We share your IP address, browser information and available cookie and ad-click identifiers. Your email and optional phone number are converted into SHA-256 hashes before sending, allowing Meta to match the enquiry to an account. Hashes are still personal data. We do not send your name, message, job description or asbestos test details to Meta.
Why we use your information
We use the information you submit through the contact form to respond to your inquiry and to communicate with you about the services you ask about. In practice, that means answering your question, assessing the job, arranging an inspection, and preparing the quote you asked for. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) and, where your inquiry leads to an agreement, Article 6(1)(b).
Advertising measurement relies on your consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a). We use this data to see which ads lead to enquiries and improve our advertising. Meta may connect this information to your account and use it to personalise ads. We do not make automated decisions that have legal effects on you.
How we store your information
Contact form submissions are delivered to us by email. They are not stored in a database on this website. Related correspondence is kept in our email account. Advertising measurement data may stay in a Cloudflare delivery queue for up to 24 hours while we attempt to send it to Meta. This queue contains hashes and technical identifiers, but no message, name or job details from the form.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We use the following providers to operate the website:
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website, sends contact form submissions to us by email, and forwards email addressed to kontakt@verdan.dk to our mailbox (Cloudflare Email Routing).
- Cloudflare Turnstile runs a bot-detection check on our contact form. When you use the form, it processes technical signals about your device, such as IP address, TLS fingerprint, and browser information. Cloudflare acts as our processor for this check, and separately as an independent controller when it uses these signals to improve its own bot-detection systems. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Notice.
Meta Platforms Ireland Limited receives Pixel and Conversions API data after you consent. Meta processes this information under its own terms and may process it outside the EU/EEA. Read about Meta’s use, retention and international transfers in Meta’s Privacy Policy and about the allocation of responsibilities in Meta’s Business Tools Terms.
We may also disclose personal information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions and related correspondence for up to two years after our last contact with you, after which they are deleted, unless a longer period is needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, or is required by law.
Your privacy rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. You may also ask us to restrict processing, object to processing, and receive your information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (data portability). Contact us at kontakt@verdan.dk to exercise any of these rights.
You can lodge a complaint about our processing of your personal information with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet). See www.datatilsynet.dk.
Cookies and advertising measurement
Marketing cookies stay off until you accept them. You can use the site and send an enquiry if you decline. Choose “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page to change or withdraw consent. Withdrawal stops future measurement and does not affect the lawfulness of processing that has already taken place.
- verdan_marketing_v2 stores your cookie choice for 180 days. It is necessary to remember that choice.
- _fbp and _fbc are Meta marketing cookies used to connect visits with ads. We store them for up to 90 days, which may renew on a visit with consent. See Meta’s Cookie Policy.
- verdan_lead is used after a successful enquiry if you accepted marketing cookies. It contains a random code so the enquiry is counted once, and is deleted when measured or expires after five minutes.
Cloudflare Turnstile on the contact form processes technical signals to reject spam. This check is necessary to protect the form and does not require marketing cookies.
Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the entire website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately to the risk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version. If we make material changes to how we handle personal information, we will post the revised policy on this page.
How to contact us
