My house in Holte is older than fibre-cement sheets. Can it still contain asbestos?
Yes, it can. Holte's villa areas were parcelled out from 1879, so many houses are older than the asbestos-containing materials. But an older villa may have had a new roof, a new bathroom or new ceilings in the years when those materials were used. It is the materials from the later conversions that need testing before they are torn out.
