Asbestos removal in Ballerup
We remove asbestos roofs, tile adhesive, pipe insulation and ceiling boards across Ballerup, and the waste goes to an approved facility.
In Ballerup asbestos is typically found in the roofs of houses, garages and sheds in the residential areas of Ballerup, Måløv and Skovlunde, and in the older commercial buildings on both sides of Ballerup Byvej.
Asbestos in Ballerup homes
If your house, garage or shed has a roof of corrugated sheets or fibre-cement slates from before 1990, it may be an asbestos roof. If you live in a terraced house or flat by Malmparken, Lautruphøj or Vestbuen, asbestos more often turns up indoors: in ceilings and walls, in tile adhesive and floors under the bathroom tiles or in pipe insulation on the heating pipes.
Fibre-cement sheets containing asbestos were produced until 1988 and laid until around 1990, tile adhesive and floor glue could contain asbestos until around 1980, and asbestos in pipe insulation belongs mostly to the years before 1972 but is found until around 1980. Only an asbestos sample shows whether the material contains asbestos, so have it tested before anyone touches it.
Businesses in Ballerup
North of Ballerup Byvej lies Lautrupparken, around 250 hectares of company headquarters along Lautrupbjerg, Borupvang and Klausdalsbrovej. South of the road lies Industriparken with production. In offices, halls and workshops from before 1990, ceiling boards, floors and roofs can contain asbestos. We split commercial jobs into zones so the rest of the building can keep working, and you get the documentation for the municipality’s waste notification.
What does asbestos removal cost in Ballerup?
Removing an asbestos roof costs from DKK 365/m² incl. VAT (DKK 292/m² excl. VAT), depending on roof type and roof area. Notification, protective sheeting, removal and disposal are included, but the new roof is not. Indoor jobs in ceilings, floors and pipe insulation have no fixed per-m² price, because the scope of the job and the containment it needs set the price.
- Asbestos roof
- from DKK 365/m² incl. VAT DKK 292/m² excl. VAT
- Scaffolding, single-storey house
- DKK 15,625 incl. VAT DKK 12,500 excl. VAT
Indicative price – final quote after assessment. All per-m² prices exclude scaffolding, but we can put it up for you.
Besides roof type and roof area, access affects the price: how high the roof is, how close the buildings are, and whether there is room for scaffolding. If you have several buildings on the same plot, we include them in one quote.

How does asbestos removal work?
-
Your details and sampling
You tell us about the job. If anything is unclear, or you ask us to, we come out and look at it free of charge. If you are unsure about the material, we arrange an asbestos sample and laboratory analysis, so we know what needs removing.
-
Fixed quote and notification
You get a written quote with a fixed price and a plan. We notify the Working Environment Authority before we start, and we help with the municipality's waste notification.
-
Sealing off and securing
We cordon off the work area and put down protective sheeting around it. For indoor removal we work under negative pressure with an airlock, so asbestos fibres spread as little as possible to the rest of the building.
-
Removal and packing
We take the asbestos-containing materials down using methods that keep dust to a minimum, pack them in approved packaging and label them.
-
Cleaning, clearance and disposal
We clean the area, and after indoor work we only reopen it once it has passed a clearance check. The waste goes to an approved facility, and you get the documentation.
Questions about asbestos removal in Ballerup

Can I remove asbestos myself in Ballerup?
As a rule, no. Since 1 January 2025, taking down asbestos-containing material has required authorisation, in Ballerup as everywhere else. The exception is brief, small-scale work, such as 4–6 roof sheets around a single roof window. A whole roof or ceiling is not a small job, and you may not split a job up to get around the rule.
Do you cover all of Ballerup?
Yes. We work across the whole of Ballerup Municipality: Ballerup town, Måløv and Skovlunde, the districts by Malmparken and the Lautrupparken and Industriparken business areas.
